Gay Short Film Night

Gay Short Film Night will take place on Monday November 2nd, once again in Černá díra in Kino Art. The event is free to attend. Please make sure to come early and save yourself a seat. We will start at 6:30pm.

The screening will be 1 hour and 24 min long with a 10 minute break in the middle.

5. Reviving The Roost (2019, Canada)

Filmmaker and bestselling author Vivek Shraya’s ode to a popular Edmonton gay bar that closed in 2007. With pulsating neon-light animation, Reviving the Roost is a story about community complexity and longing, and an elegy to a lost space.

6. I Wish There Was a Guy Term for I Love You (2021, USA)

An experimental documentary that preserves hidden queer histories and draws attention to the often overlooked importance of nature in queer life.

7. Too Close (2024, Ukraine)

Kyiv, 2023. Two friends return from a party and stay at the home of one of them. It would seem like cozy evening but suddenly the heroes are caught in an air raid. Within the air raid happening the two guys explore their closeness.

8. Manivald (2017, Canada, Croatia, Estonia)

Manivald, a fox, is turning 33. Overeducated, unemployed and generally uninspired, he lives with his overbearing, retired mother and spends his days learning piano while she makes his coffee and washes his socks. Their unhealthy co-dependence is about to collapse when the washing machine breaks down and Toomas, a sexy and adventurous wolf repairman, arrives to fix it, and them.
