Dmitry and Irina Perov, the parents of the heroic anarchist fighter Dmitry 'Leshy' Petrov Jr., are continuing their European tour of their book, 'The Parents' Day', which is about their son and the international volunteers in Ukraine. It is about war, love, death, choice and freedom.

The Parents' Day by Dmitry Petrov is a profound story of our times. It shows the war both – at the map of the battlefield and within the human heart.

A father tries to comprehend the choice of his son, a volunteer who went missing in action, defending Bakhmut from Putin’s invaders. Their direct and mental dialogues, torn apart by war, are attempts to break through ideologies and pain to find a bridge between duty, love, and the abyss of misunderstanding. How can a father talk to his son when his choice leads him directly into the epicentre of tragedy?

This is a very poetic fiction. But this is not an author's fantasy. The novelette was written by Dmitry Petrov Senior, reflecting on the true story of his son - an ethnologist, historian, volunteer and anarchist true to his convictions to the end. This personal tragedy gives the narrative an unprecedented depth.

Kniha Den rodičů od Dmitrije Petrova je hlubokým příběhem naší doby. Ukazuje válku jak na mapě bojiště, tak v lidském srdci.

Otec se snaží pochopit volbu svého syna, dobrovolníka, který zmizel v boji při obraně Bachmutu před Putinovými okupanty. Jejich přímé i mentální dialogy roztrhané válkou jsou pokusy prorazit skrze ideologie a bolest, aby našli mosty mezi povinností, láskou a propastí neporozumění.
