EPH vlastní fosilní infrastukturu po celé Evropě, patří mezi největší znečišťovatele a skrz obchodování s ruským plynem podporuje invazi na Ukrajinu. Během energetické krize hlásila firma rekordní tržby a její majitel, Daniel Křetínský, se stal 2. nejbohatším Čechem. Svůj veřejný obraz si Křetínský čistí nakupováním nakupováním médií a fotbalových klubů.
Hostem prvního setkání bude Vojtěch Pecka, autor knihy Továrna na lži, kterou nedávno vydala společně nakladatelství Alarm a Utopia libri. Jak si fosilní korporace kupují veřejné mínění? Jak se tvoří klimatické dezinformace? A co s tím vším můžeme dělat my?

We are convening the first public meeting of the collective EPH Must Fall.
The aim of the meeting is to connect people affected or fighting the influence of the fossil mega-empire of EPH. We’re angry about the Climate Crisis brought on by dirty and expensive fossil fuels and the influence of Oligarchs who own them. Come meet us there!
Evening’s host: Vojěch Pecka
EPH owns fossil infrastructure across the whole of Europe. It is one of the biggest polluters (its emissions equal to those of the whole of Finland) and through shady deals concerning Russian gas, it directly finances Russian invasion on Ukraine. During the energy crisis it reported record-breaking profits and its owner, Daniel Křetínský, became 2nd richest Czech person. Daniel is tryin to improve his public image by buying out media outlets and football clubs.
This evening’s host will be Vojtěch Pecka, the author of the book “Továrna na Lži” (“Factory of Lies”), recently published jointly by Alarm and Utopia libri. The book discusses: How do fossil corporations influence public opinion? How do they produce false information about the state of climate? And what can we do about it?
