About the Event
In times of war, displacement, and rising polarization, the terms Zionism and Judaism are often confused or conflated — fueling misunderstanding and prejudice. This event seeks to unpack these concepts, clarifying the distinction between Judaism as a spiritual and cultural faith tradition, and Zionism as a political ideology.
Through historical context, personal testimony, and open dialogue, participants will explore how faith, identity, and politics intersect — and how understanding these differences can foster more informed public conversations.
What to Expect
Clarify Definitions – Learn the distinct origins and meanings of Judaism and Zionism.
Challenge Misconceptions – Address how public narratives and media blur the line between faith and politics.
Personal Testimony – Hear from Gregory Berger, a Jewish American professor whose family survived the Holocaust, reflecting on history, identity, and belonging.
Open Discussion – Engage in a respectful Q&A exploring how communities can move toward understanding and compassion.
